Just another way to keep you entertained until Thursday...
The Saturday night Drunken Poker League celebrates Nadia Flynn's Birthday on Saturday September 1, 2007 at Tim's place during game 17 and 18 of the Fall Season. Click the photo for a larger view. Click here to view more pictures of this epic event. This video clip was featured on the web site's home page between January 25 and February 1, 2007. It was put together to raise excitement over the Winter 06/07 championship match that was one game away. The video took a lot of work to make, mostly because I had to search through old footage to come up with a lot of the audio that was used. I thought it would make a nice addition to the museum. Click play to watch. It requires Quicktime Player, a free download.
A scene from a typical Thursday night; the "take off your shoes inside" rule being followed by everyone, creates a sea of footwear in the room which leads to the deck outside. 8/23/07. Sandy Hengstler wins the very first Texas Hold'em No-Limit Heads Up, Double Elimination Tournament at Jim's, held on August 16th, 2007. Sandy went undefeated through five heads up matches, winning first, the winner,s bracket, then the entire tournament. Click here for more info regarding this event.
A photo of Eric Smith and the birthday present he got from his wife. This kind of thing makes me sick! You mean to tell me Mrs. Smith couldn't spring for two hot bunny babes with their nipples sticking out of their dresses? How cheap can you get? Click for a better image. Smith's Vegas Vacation 8/07. Drunken Poker Night, Saturday 8/11/07, Monica Froman holds the envelope that contained the pot for the Summer Season 2007 Championship Match which she won just two days before.
Tommy gets a cake for celebrating his birthday playing cards here! We are even willing to take his money on his B-day! Aren't we bad? 7/26/07. Table number one as the group draws seats to begin the game, game 9 of 10 of the Summer Season 2007, 7/26/07.

The first deck of Copag playing cards used at Jim's. The deck was purchased on 12/31/06 and used first in game 6 of 10 of the Winter Season 06/07. The deck was decommissioned on July 5th 2007 during game 7 of 10 of the Summer Season after a player noticed that the 4 of Clubs was bent. It is estimated that the deck played out 24 tournaments.
A dark day for Thursday night poker. It was the Spring Season 2007, Game 8 of 10, which took place at the Paura's residence. Those who were there know all that occured but rarely talk about it. The next morning Bob himself authored an e-mail message to the group that sent spine tingling chills down the backs of it's readers. This day forever changed the rules related to behavior... and the day was named "Black Thursday". Incidentally, the record shows that Monica Froman took 1st place this tournament. Could she be cursed?

"The Summer Guys" a phrase coined by the group in Fall 2006 referring to Eric Smith (left) Rick Quaranto aka: "Master P" (center) and Scott Youngman (right). The trio joined the Thursday night events in Summer 2006, hence the name. No one knows for sure how they found out about the games - they just did... and they've been playing ever since. Good guys, good friends. We call them... "The Summer Guys". Summer background provided by 6 year old Justin Entwistle.

A cake presented to Mike Sofia who left Thursday nights due to a change in his work schedule. The cake was supposed to be in the shape of a poker chip. It was devoured on Thursday 12/28/06 by all who wished him "good bye". Mikey claims he will be back to take some more of the pots. We hope he sticks to his word! Poker night hosted by Scott Youngman on 1/20/07, played on a table made to look like a billiard table... Two fast paced no-limit games were held while Youngman's ferrets looked on. First place winners were Jim Entwistle and Tim Entwistle. The best part though, were the meatballs and watching Eric lose with pocket aces... again.
